Some time ago I had a near-death experience. I will not describe it in detail here – it belongs to me. I will say only what matters: in that moment I felt I was standing before God. And I came back with one thing I understood as a task: to bless water that helps people truly repent of what they have done wrong. And I understood something else: that cleansing and forgiveness are not found only in the confessional – they are found wherever a person, alone before God, honestly names their sins and regrets them.

I cannot prove what I lived through. I am not asking you to believe it. I only know what it did to me: I began to take my own faults seriously. To name them. To regret them truly – not in passing, between two other things. The first time, I washed my hands more out of helplessness than conviction. And that is when I understood why water: hands are what we hurt with, and what we will apologise with. Washing them during prayer is a simple, bodily "yes" to what we are saying.

I bless the Water of Repentance myself, in small batches, with prayer. It is not a sacrament and I am not affiliated with any church. Forgiveness is not in the bottle – it is with God and in the sincerity of your heart. The water is a sign: something you can hold in your hands while you say what is hard to say.
